Raheem Sterling is another player on the list of Manchester City's outgoings this summer following the imminent departure of Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.

With a new season around the corner, Manchester City's manager, Pep Guardiola, plans to reshuffle his team as he looks to release some players while bringing in fresh ones in their hunt for a Champions League trophy.

Sterling, 25, has emerged as a name on the list, which has surprised some supporters, while others have bought into the idea of him leaving Etihad.

The England-born winger has been one of the best players in Pep Guardiola's era and since joining the Premier League Champions in 2015.

Sterling has made one of the most appearances in the sky blue jersey since he arrived, featuring 225 times in the Premier League and 339 with 131 goals in all competitions.

With his departure imminent, former Manchester City player Trevor Sinclair has warned the club about the decision to show him the exit door this summer.

"Some Manchester City fans are happy to see Sterling go...careful what you wish for," said Trevor Sinclair. Pep only had 3 players score 100 goals under him; Messi, Aguero, and Sterling. Two hundred twenty-six goal involvements in 339 games!”

Chelsea have shown an interest in signing the winger, valued at £50m, as the club's manager, Thomas Tuchel, is looking to bolster his attacking options next season after loaning out Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan.

The London-based club is in advanced talks with Manchester City for Sterling after a £35m opening bid for Sterling was rejected by Pep Guardiola's side.

According to reports, Sterling is open to joining Chelsea this summer, which could make the deal much easier for the Blues.

With many players leaving Etihad this summer, including young goalkeeper Zack Steffen, who is bound to join lower division side Middlesbrough on a season-long loan, Pep Guardiola has already started recruiting some new players.

Manchester City have secured the signing of top Norwegian striker Erling Haaland from Borrusia Dortmund and are close to completing the signing of Leeds United's midfielder Kalvin Phillips for £42m plus add-ons that could rise to £50m.

The Citizens are also interested in signing Marc Cucurella from Brighton and would turn their attention to the left-back once they complete the deal for Kalvin Phillips.
